Jackie Robinson was born in Georgia but, this was a time of segregation and his father recently left him when Jackie was born. So the Robinson family decided to move to the west to California. As Jackie grew, he went to UCLA and played sports. Jackie was a very athletic man, he played football,baseball, basketball, and track events.He was drafted into World War 2 and was almost got Court-Martial for refusing to sit in the back of the bus.In 1945, he played Negro League Baseball for the Kansas City Monarchs. Jackie Robinson was a man who wanted change. he witnessed segregation all his life even in his sports he played. (Jackie Robinson Biography)
